Fire Sunk by Nightmare
The New York Nightmare beat the San Francisco Fire, 4-2. New York pitcher and Hampton, Virginia, native Joe Schroeder led the way. Adam Holland was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 30 of 32 save opportunities. The third-place Nightmare have won 4 in a row.

New York took a 4-2 lead on Robby Penland's 9th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Penland hit in the bottom of the seventh, left San Francisco pitcher Taylor Motyl visibly frustrated.

"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Schroeder said after the game.
