Marauders Lose at Home, 4-1

The Santa Fe Chiefs topped the Philadelphia Marauders, 4-1, in American Conference action at Marauders Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of Santa Fe pitcher Pat Hovhannisian. Hovhannisian got the win, improving to 2-0. He gave up 5 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. He allowed 1 run. Brian Hammond recorded his 1st save for Santa Fe.
Santa Fe took advantage of an error in the top of the sixth inning. The game was tied, 0-0, when Steve McKinstry hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Chiefs in front, 1-0.
"Pat did a good job keeping the game under control," said Santa Fe manager Brandon Harper.
The loss drops Philadelphia to 4-2.
