Detroit Picks Up Another L
The San Diego Fleet besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Detroit third baseman Ramon Dozal by beating the Giants, 8-6, at Peter Seidler Memorial Stadium. Dozal went 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2. Travis Erb picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-2. Heath Maughn was tagged with the loss. The losses continue to mount for Detroit, which has now dropped 6 in a row.

San Diego took the lead, 7-6, on Dale Day's 28th home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Detroit pitcher Heath Maughn in the bottom of the seventh.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said San Diego manager Brian Burnett.
