6-4 Sea Turtles Win over Whistlers Evens Season Record
The rain came, as predicted, but the Daytona Beach Sea Turtles and Boston Whistlers were able to complete their ballgame.

In the 6-4 Daytona Beach win over Boston, the impact of Derek Maher was substantial. Maher, who is tied for 10th in the NC in doubles with 24, was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Donovan March got credit for the save for Daytona Beach. It was his 1st of the year.

Daytona Beach used the timely hitting of Bill Highsmith to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Sea Turtles on top, 6-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I was seeing the ball well tonight," said Highsmith.

Daytona Beach is now 66-66.
