Royals Lose Despite Valiant Effort by Fritz
The Detroit Giants defeated the Cincinnati Royals, 14-8. Doing his part was first baseman Jon Fritz, who was 3 for 5 with 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. At 70-63, the Giants have a slim two-game lead in the American Conference North East Division.

Detroit used the bat of Ryan Forsythe to get the win. The third baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Giants ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"I'm glad we can make our fans happy with a win," Forsythe told the Detroit Herald.
