Gangsters Popped by Invaders, 6-2
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Chicago Gangsters and Oakland Invaders get after it.
The Oakland Invaders knocked off the Chicago Gangsters, 6-2, in National Conference action at Howard Terminal. Oakland pitcher and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, native Alfredo Tiscareno had an outstanding performance. The triumph puts Oakland at 75-57 for the season.
Adam Bechdel had a big 2-run double for the Invaders in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Oakland leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he got a cutter from 20-year old right-handed pitcher Andy Bennett and swatted a double to center. It was his 26th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Invaders ahead, 4-0.
Said losing manager Antonio Valdez: "Obviously, we wished for a better outcome."
