The Austin Desperados wiggled past the Cincinnati Royals, 4-3, at Dell Diamond. The win was highlighted by the performance of Austin pitcher Matt Parsons. Chris Oren came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record now stands at 3-3. The Desperados have an impressive 35-21 record.

Ruben Alamo played the role of hero for Austin. In the bottom of the 11th, he launched a solo home run off Roberto Salazar to win the game. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was the decisive blow.

"If you ever get this game figured out," said Cincinnati manager Brad McBride, "let me know."
