Austin Dealt 3-0 Defeat
|
The Cincinnati Royals defeated the Austin Desperados, 3-0, in National Conference action at The Castle. Cincinnati pitcher Josh Huggins had a standout performance. Huggins picked up the win for Cincinnati, going 5.2 innings. He gave up no runs on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 6-3. Roberto Salazar nailed down his 14th save.
The Royals got a big at-bat from left fielder Eric Hayes. For the game, Hayes was 1-4 with a home run. In the bottom of the third, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Cincinnati a 1-0 lead.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Cincinnati manager Justin Aaron.
Cincinnati is now 28-28, Austin 25-31.
