Invaders Come Up Short at Carolina, 5-4
The rain came, as predicted, but the Carolina Reapers and Oakland Invaders were able to complete their ballgame.

The Carolina Reapers did just enough to sneak past the Oakland Invaders, 5-4, at Reedy River Stadium. Carolina pitcher Roy Walk, in particular, had a standout performance. Andy Hannah earned save number 9 this season.

Dustin Sheedy dealt the Invaders a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with the bases loaded and Carolina leading 3-2, Sheedy hit a first pitch cutter for a 2-run single.

"We'll take some time to unwind," said Sheedy, "and then get after it again."

With the win over Oakland, the Reapers improved to 55-75.
