The Cleveland Wild Things eked out a 1-0 win versus the Vancouver Mounties at Mounties Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Josh Holmes. He was terrific. In 8 innings, Holmes surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 4. He allowed no runs. The last-place Wild Things improved to 53-76.

Steve McKinstry, the two-time All-Star , had a direct impact on the outcome. McKinstry contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put Cleveland up, 1-0.
