Riding the 3-hit performance of the 2015 Rookie of the Year Award winner Austin Compton, the Halifax Heathens defeated the Dallas Dragons, 9-0. Josh Harkey closed the game out for Halifax, earning his 8th save. The Heathens lead the American Conference South Division by 6½ games.

The Dragons had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Heathens going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the four-time All-Star Bruce Richards came to the plate. Richards hit a run-scoring double on a first pitch sinker from Dallas hurler Pat DeChant. It was Richards's 8th double of the year.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Compton said. "We did a good job of that today."
