Getting an impressive start from Mark Dudley, Daytona Beach beat Charleston by the score of 3-1. The winner was Dudley. He threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball. The loser was David Johnson. Jeff Adams closed it out for Daytona Beach, earning his 26th save.
Alex Natera had a big 2-run double for the Sea Turtles in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Daytona Beach leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a cutter from Josh Reed, who is tied for 4th in the NC in wins with 13, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 29th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Sea Turtles ahead, 3-0.
"We took home the win," said Natera. "What's not to like?"
The Sea Turtles improved their record to 53-76 with the win over Charleston.
