|
Aztecs second baseman Tobias Rivera put his stamp on his team's 3-2 win over the San Diego Fleet. Rivera was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles for Mexico City in the contest. Jeff Cox earned his 33rd save in 35 chances. Mexico City has 3 straight wins, San Diego 3 straight losses.
Corey Cawley had a big solo home run for the Aztecs in the bottom of the third inning. With Mexico City leading 2-1 and the bases empty, he sized up a curveball from Ray Rorie, who finished 2nd in the NC in wins with 18 in 2018, and punished it. The result was his 9th home run of the season, which put the Aztecs on top, 3-1.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Rivera.
