Vermont pitcher Abel Viar had a large part in his team subduing the Sonoma Scorpions, 4-0. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Luke Getts notched his 10th save of the season. The Milkmen now have a record of 25-28.

Bryan Colvin broke a 0-0 tie in the bottom of the fifth with a run-scoring ground out. It put the Milkmen in front, 1-0. For the game, Colvin drove in one run.

"The effort we put into this one paid off," Colvin said.
