Royals Suffer 9-1 Road Loss
The Miami Boll Weevils picked up a win at Ballpark of Miami, taking down the Cornwall Royals, 9-1. Starting pitcher Gerardo Matute was a big reason why. Matute picked up the win for Miami, going 8.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 4-4. The win has Miami at 20-32.

Dave Haines had a big run-scoring double for the Boll Weevils in the bottom of the first inning. With Miami leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a sinker from Dave Kramer, who is tied for 8th in the W-AA with a 8.5 K/9 rate, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Boll Weevils ahead, 2-0.
