Tigercats Snag 5-3 Win
The Vail Tigercats picked up a win at Firecats Ballpark, knocking off the Hialeah Firecats, 5-3. Starting pitcher Tony Suarez played a key role in the triumph. Vail reliever Brett Emma picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Simon Peretti took the loss. Kyle Schroeder earned the save for Vail, his 13th.

Vail used the timely hitting of Tom Tofel to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Tigercats on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Tony was able to execute his pitches," said Vail manager Mike Alexander. "Simple as that."

With the victory, the Tigercats upped their record to 28-23.
