Fire Turn Back Maroons, 4-3
|
The San Francisco Fire did just enough to sneak past the Montreal Maroons, 4-3, at Expo 67 Stadium. San Francisco designated hitter Matthew Little, in particular, had a standout performance. San Francisco reliever Damani Anderson picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Mario Salazar was saddled with the loss. Marcos Rosas sewed up the save, his 4th.
Severo Salcido did the little things right to help the team against the Maroons. In the top of the first inning, he reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run, putting San Francisco in front, 1-0.
Little said he was "thrilled" the fans had something to get excited about.
San Francisco has a record of 25-30, placing them third in the National Conference West Division.
