Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Cornwall Royals and Sonoma Scorpions.
Cornwall Royals starter Troy Conner hurled his team past the Sonoma Scorpions, 4-2. The winner was Conner. He threw 6.0 innings allowing 2 runs. The loser was Freddy Vazquez.
Jaime Tate, who is tied for 9th in the W-AA in RBI with 28, had a direct impact on the outcome. Tate contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put Cornwall up, 2-0.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Conner, "and then get after it again."
Cornwall raised its record to 32-17 with the win.
