Brewer Excels, But Cavalry Win
The St. Louis Cavalry withstood an impressive performance by Hialeah third baseman Eric Brewer to defeat the Firecats, 9-8, at Firecats Ballpark. Brewer went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a double. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Jeremiah Porter nailed down his 1st save. The last-place Cavalry own a record of 16-33.

St. Louis needed the clutch hitting of Jeff Sausville to notch the win. The third baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Cavalry on top, 9-7. For the game, Sausville had 2 home runs and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Sausville.
