Riding the 2-hit performance of the 29-year old third baseman Matt Rock, the Hialeah Firecats stopped the St. Louis Cavalry, 5-2. Hialeah pitcher Bob Paterson got the win, upping his record to 2-0. Vic Vance got the loss. The win gives Hialeah a season record of 25-23.

Hialeah grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Rock hit a 2-run home run off Vic Vance. His 10th home run of the season put the Firecats out in front, 4-2.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Rock said.
