Milkmen Fall Short, 3-2, at Vail

Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Vail Tigercats got the win.
Vail Tigercats starter Mike Bruce pitched his team past the Vermont Milkmen, 3-2. In 7 innings, Bruce surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. Robert Hendricks was called on to finish, recording his 13th save.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Tigercats had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when left fielder Adam Cox hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Steve Quintero and made the score 3-2, Tigercats. Cox was 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Bruce.
With the win, Vail goes to 28-22, while the Milkmen fall to 27-23.
