The first-place Halifax Heathens picked up another win.

Behind an impressive start by Jack Ivory, Halifax beat Cincinnati, 4-2. Picking up the save was 27-year old right-handed pitcher Jeff Buck.

Tied up with the Royals in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Heathens got a boost from left fielder Eric Kukowski. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Kukowski saw a 2-0 fastball from Tom Kitko and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Halifax on top, 3-2.

Halifax manager David Morris was pleased with the team's effort. "It was just a good, gutsy performance by everybody," he said.

The first-place Heathens now have a record of 39-16.
