Royals Fall, 7-0, to Sanchez, Scorpions

The Sonoma Scorpions beat the Cornwall Royals, 7-0, at Ballpark of North Richland Hills. Jose Sanchez, who is tied for 8th in the W-AA with a .819 OPS, starred for Sonoma. He slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. The winning pitcher was Steve Bueno. He's now 6-2. He went 6 innings, allowing no runs on 3 hits for the Scorpions. John Wright earned the save for Sonoma, his 1st of the year.
With Sonoma leading 2-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Sanchez hit a fastball from Nate Guzman for a grand slam home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Scorpions ahead, 6-0.
"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Sanchez.
The Sonoma winning streak has reached 3 games.
