Both teams had their chances, but the St. Louis Cavalry eventually prevailed.

St. Louis left fielder Darwin Honda was instrumental in helping the Cavalry triumph, 8-7, over the Hialeah Firecats. Honda was 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The win puts St. Louis at 19-29.

Had Marcus Walkden not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Walkden hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 8-7, in favor of the Cavalry.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Walkden said.
