Late Offense Lifts Austin to 6-3 Victory
Austin took on Indianapolis in front of a lively crowd.

The Austin Desperados picked up a win at Eagles Stadium, dropping the Indianapolis Eagles, 6-3. Sam Campos, who finished 3rd in the AC in ERA with 2.27 last year, was the difference-maker. Campos, now 5-2, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 2, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs. Bob Baucke earned the save, his 20th.

Julian Chavez went 1 for 3 against the Eagles. With the game tied in the top of the eighth inning, he hit a sacrifice fly that put Austin in front, 4-3.

"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Campos said.

The loss makes Indianapolis 25-30.
