The Daytona Beach Sea Turtles took on the Boston Whistlers at Leatherback Park.

Daytona Beach got a strong outing from Oscar Ayala as the Sea Turtles defeated the Boston Whistlers, 5-1, at Leatherback Park. Daytona Beach has now won 3 straight, while the Whistlers have lost 3 in a row.

Jon Dearman had a big run-scoring triple for the Sea Turtles in the bottom of the third inning. With Daytona Beach leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a changeup from Josh Cowels, who is tied for 10th in the AC in quality starts with 8, and swatted a triple to left-center. It was his 2nd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Sea Turtles ahead, 2-0.

Dearman told a Daytona Beach Chronicle reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
