Fire Lose to 23ers in Walk-Off
|
The Fountain Hills 23ers wiggled past the San Francisco Fire, 6-5, in 12 innings at Fountain Park. The win was highlighted by the performance of Fountain Hills center fielder Isaiah Mill. Wade McGonigle came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. His record now stands at 5-1. San Francisco, at 17-37, has lost 5 straight.
The 23ers got a clutch hit from left fielder Armando Cuevas. In the bottom of the 12th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the 23ers.
"We're not exactly playing great right now," said Zach Freeman, the San Francisco manager.
