Penn Socks 2 Home Runs in 7-4 New York Win
The New York Nightmare topped the Vancouver Mounties, 7-4, with center fielder Maik Penn playing a big role. Penn was 4-5 with 2 home runs and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Nightmare in the win. Jose Contreras got the win, improving to 6-2. He worked 6 innings, giving up 4 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Adam Holland earned the save for New York, his 15th of the year.

Penn contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for New York in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Penn took a fastball from Lance Goecker and stroked the home run to right. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Nightmare to leap in front, 3-1.

"It never gets old," said Penn. "Winning, that is."

At 23-31, the Nightmare are currently last in the American Conference North East Division.
