Reapers Fall to Captains Late
|
Reedy River Stadium was the site of a tense game between the Carolina Reapers and Tampa Bay Captains.
Thanks in large part to right fielder Vinny Medina, the Tampa Bay Captains beat the Carolina Reapers, 3-1. Medina went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2. With the win, Tampa Bay goes to 21-33, while the Reapers fall to 22-32.
Medina had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 3-1 fastball from Pat Eisen, he banged a solo home run to left-center, giving the Captains a 2-1 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Medina.
"We took home the win," said Medina. "What's not to like?"
