Oakland starter Miguel Leon pitched effectively against the Austin Desperados at Howard Terminal. The right-hander led his team to a win, 3-2. The Invaders lead the National Conference South Division by 7 games.

Mike Townsend dealt the Desperados a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Oakland leading 2-0, Townsend, who is tied for 5th in the NC in triples with 3, hit a 2-2 slider for a run-scoring single.

"We found a way to get it done," Townsend said.
