Yule Leads 23ers to 8-5 Win Over Aztecs
The Fountain Hills 23ers topped the Mexico City Aztecs, 8-5, in American Conference action at Fountain Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Fountain Hills shortstop Jeff Yule. The winning pitcher was Taylor Motyl. His record now stands at 5-6. The right-hander went 5.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits for the 23ers. The 23ers saw their win-loss record go to 25-28. At the same time, the Aztecs fell to 35-18.

Jim Kaufman had a big 3-run home run for the 23ers in the bottom of the second inning. With Fountain Hills leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a cutter from Jay Sikora, who is tied for 8th in the NC in wins with 5, and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the 23ers on top, 4-0.

"Nice to tuck this win away," said Kaufman.
