Detroit Rallies for 6-3 Victory
Led by Ben Shafer, the Detroit Giants downed the Hollywood Stars, 6-3. Shafer was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Giants. Tony Gutierrez snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Adam Arent suffered the loss. With the win, Detroit pushed its record to 27-26.

Shafer had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 0-1 fastball from Adam Arent, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Giants a 4-2 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Shafer.

Detroit manager Sean O'Leary commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
