Scorpions Prevail, 3-1, Over Daytona Beach
The Syracuse Scorpions knocked off the Daytona Beach Sea Turtles, 3-1, in American Conference action at Leatherback Park. Syracuse pitcher and Boise, Idaho, native Everett Treadwell had an outstanding performance. Treadwell got the win, improving to 2-2. He gave up 7 hits and walked 0 over 7 innings. He allowed 1 run. Ken Allbaugh earned the save for Syracuse.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Chris Service? The 25-year old right fielder Service stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Syracuse up, 2-1. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.

"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Syracuse manager Josh Gifford said.

Syracuse now has a record of 28-25 with the win.
