Fleet Pick Up 9-2 Win Against Detroit
|
San Diego third baseman Paul Pittman played a vital role in his team's 9-2 conquest of Detroit. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for San Diego. San Diego reliever Justin Pierce picked up the win to move to 2-1. Nate Ray suffered the loss. The win elevated the Fleet to 28-25.
Pittman had an important at-bat with a runner on 1st in the top of the seventh, when he hit a single. The Fleet went on to win.
San Diego manager Brian Burnett was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys went out there and put good wood on the ball," he said.
