Robinson Powers Eagles to 7-1 Win
|
The exploits of designated hitter Jerry Robinson, who is tied for 3rd in the NC in extra base hits with 25, helped the Indianapolis Eagles defeat the Cincinnati Royals, 7-1. Robinson went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Josh Riddick snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 4.1 innings. He's now 3-0 on the season. Today's win puts Indianapolis at 33-19, while Cincinnati falls to 30-22.
Robinson had a consequential at-bat in the bottom of the fourth for the Eagles. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Indianapolis trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run single.
Robinson attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
