Halifax Wins, 5-4, Over Desperados
|
The Halifax Heathens picked up a win at Estadio Azteca, knocking off the Austin Desperados, 5-4. Starting pitcher Jack Ivory played a key role in the triumph. Jeff Buck, now 3-0, was credited with the win in 1 innings of relief. He allowed 1 run on no hits, while striking out 1 and walking 1. With the win, the Heathens have a record of 30-22.
Halifax got a game-changing hit from Eric Kukowski. The left fielder blasted a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a winner.
Said Kukowski: "What's not to like about a walk-off win?"
