Giants Get 5-1 Win Versus Philadelphia
The Detroit Giants knocked off the Philadelphia Marauders, 5-1, at Ballpark of Detroit. Bob Gilmore was a big reason Detroit won. The designated hitter slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The Giants go to 25-27, putting them second in the American Conference North East Division.

Gilmore contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Detroit in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 1-0, Gilmore took a fastball from Barry McLamb and stroked the home run to right-center. His 11th home run of the season allowed the Giants to leap in front, 2-1.

"Bob is still learning," said Giants manager Sean O'Leary. "The sky's the limit for him."
