The Mexico City Aztecs, despite a fine performance by Hollywood pitcher Bobby Nowlin, grabbed a 3-2 win at Gran Estadio Azteca. Nowlin allowed 2 runs over 6 innings. Mexico City reliever Nick Calvache was credited with the win. His record goes to 2-0. Steve Ray took the loss for Hollywood. The save went to Jeff Cox, his 16th this season.

Danny Velasquez hit a run-scoring triple off Steve Ray in the bottom of the seventh, which put the Aztecs in front, 3-2. Velasquez had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 3.

"We were in it," said Hollywood manager Alex Aguilera. "We just didn't score enough runs."

This loss makes it 7 in a row for Hollywood.
