Gangsters Pull Out Late Win, 7-6
|
The 7-6 Chicago win over Syracuse was due in large part to Willie Bravo. The Gangsters center fielder went 2 for 5 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Keith Kramer sewed up the save, his 7th. With the win, the Gangsters have a record of 16-35.
Bravo had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 1-1 fastball from John Landgren, he banged a grand slam home run to right, giving the Gangsters a 7-5 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Bravo.
"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Bravo said in reaction to the win.
