Helm Lays Hammer Down in 2-0 Win
The Boston Whistlers satisfied the home crowd at Whislters Park, treating them to a season-opening win, 2-0, over the Cleveland Wild Things. Starting Pitcher Jay Helm was the standout performer for Boston. Mark Dudley earned the save for Boston, his 1st of the year.

Helm, a native of New York, was dealing all game. He kept Cleveland hitters off-balance, while giving the Whistlers 8 quality innings. Helm threw 113 pitches, allowing 3 hits and striking out 13.

"We played a good game and came out on top," said Helm.
