Gohlke Whacks 2 Home Runs in 6-5 Win
|
The Chicago Gangsters beat the Syracuse Scorpions, 6-5, in part because of first baseman Mike Gohlke. He was 3-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Chicago reliever Ruben Lopez picked up the win to move to 5-0. Elijah Miller suffered the loss. Earning his 1st save for Chicago was Brian Kauppinen.
Gohlke had an important at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the sixth, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Gangsters went on to win.
"Winning is hard sometimes," said Gangsters manager Antonio Valdez. "This one was nice to get."
Chicago, with the win, sits at 17-33.
