Phoenix first baseman Clemente Julio contributed significantly to his team's 4-2 win over the Dallas Dragons. Julio, who finished 2nd in the AC in hits with 198 in 2024, went 3 for 4 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Gladiators. The win went to Matt Dickson in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Chris Benson took the loss. Manny Brant was credited with the save for Phoenix, his 20th of the season.

Ton Ariëns dealt the Dragons a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with the bases loaded and Phoenix leading 2-1, Ariëns, who finished 5th in the AC in wins above replacement with 5.8 in 2022, hit a 0-1 sinker for a 2-run single.

"We did the things that it takes to win a game," said Julio.

The Gladiators now have a mark of 32-18.
