Sea Turtles Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Nightmare, 7-3
|
Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Daytona Beach Sea Turtles and New York Nightmare.
The Daytona Beach Sea Turtles locked up a win at Nightmare Stadium, knocking off the New York Nightmare, 7-3. On the mound for Daytona Beach was right-hander Alan Champagne. He played a major role in the triumph. Daytona Beach reliever Jared Holder was the winner. His record is now 3-1. Adam Coleman took the loss.
Chris Wagner drove in one run for Daytona Beach. The 26-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the ninth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Adam Coleman. It was his 17th RBI of the season.
"Alan pitched like a son-of-a-gun," said Daytona Beach manager Danny Sanchez.
After today's action, Daytona Beach sits at 19-30, while New York falls to 22-27.
