Win Streak Now at 7 for Eagles
|
The Indianapolis Eagles withstood a fine game by San Diego first baseman Jonathan Ellis at San Diego Stadium, to upend the Fleet, 7-4. Ellis went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Indianapolis reliever Josh Wilkes picked up the win, raising his record to 2-0. Carlos Mendez was tagged with the loss. Cameron Hutchinson wrapped it up, recording his 6th save.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Danny Aleman? The Indianapolis right fielder had a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Eagles on top, 7-3. For the game, Aleman had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Indianapolis manager Pete DuBay.
The winning continues for Indianapolis, with the latest triumph making it 7 straight.
