White Delivers Walk-Off Win for Giants
The Detroit Giants outlasted Josh Reed and the Charleston Shiners, 8-7. Reed was impressive in the loss. The Charleston pitcher threw 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball. The win was credited to 2011 Cy Young Award winner Aaron Sutton in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Jon Reynolds took the loss. Charleston now owns a losing streak of 5 games.

Curtis White was the walk-off hero for Detroit. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Giants center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"I warned the team before the game," losing manager Chad Hart told reporters, "that I'm wearing the same pair of undies until we win."
