Desperados Lose to Scorpions, 6-3
|
The Austin Desperados got a superb performance from pitcher Luke Scrimger, but the Syracuse Scorpions still won the game, 6-3. Scrimger threw 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball. Syracuse reliever Xavier Tomlin was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Luke Scrimger took the loss. The loss makes Austin 22-26.
Chris Service went 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Syracuse. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, Service, who is tied for 7th in the AC in triples with 2, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Austin hurler Ethan Yarbrough, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Scorpions a 4-3 lead.
"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Service.
