Miami Christian High School left fielder Zach Black could do no wrong in his team's 13-7 win over the Hawks, as he collected 5 hits.

"Things were in his favor in every one of his at-bats," Hawks skipper Walt Carrington said to the press corps after the game. "He got hitters' counts."

Black agreed, saying that getting ahead early in the counts was "the key" to his game.

"Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit," he said. "You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready."

Zach Black grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.

So far this year, Black has hit .298 with 1 home run, 5 RBIs and 13 runs scored.
