Soggy conditions did not keep Detroit and Charleston from playing their scheduled game.

The Charleston Sea Dogs went down to defeat to Julian Bryant and his Detroit teammates. The final score was 6-2, in favor of the Giants. In 6.1 innings, Bryant surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 10 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. Justin Thompson closed the game out for Detroit, earning his 1st save.

Angelo Mejia had a big 2-run home run for the Giants in the top of the first inning. With Detroit leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a cutter from 25-year old left-handed pitcher Matt Schapp and punished it. The result was his 6th home run of the season, which put the Giants on top, 3-0.

Bryant attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
