Led by Ricky Ordonez, the Boston Whistlers defeated the Phoenix Gladiators, 7-4. Ordonez went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Whistlers. Reliever Matthew Rowlands picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Justin Watson took the loss. Blake Bryant nailed down his 6th save.

Boston took a 7-4 lead on Steve Wooldridge's 1st home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Wooldridge hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Phoenix pitcher Jesus Howell visibly frustrated.

"Chalk one up for the good guys," said Wooldridge. "I'm sure our fans enjoyed that win."

Phoenix's current losing streak is now 5 games.
