The Boston Whistlers thumped the Austin Desperados, 9-1, at Dell Diamond. Eric Clayton was a big reason his team got the win. Clayton was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. With the win, the Whistlers have a record of 24-22.

With Boston leading 4-1 in the top of the eighth, Clayton hit a slider from Joe McLaughlin for a grand slam home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Whistlers ahead, 8-1.
