Jensen Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits
|
Players get multi-hit games all the time, but 5-hit games are something else entirely. Mitch Jensen walloped 5 hits in 5 at-bats for the Lowndes High School Vikings in a career day at Lowndes High School Baseball Stadium today, but it was the Stoneman Douglas High School Eagles who won the ballgame, 13-9.
"My swing was really, really there today," Jensen said afterward. "I made some good, solid contact and when that happens, good things happen. And hey, 5-for-5 and losing is better than 0-for-5 and losing, right?"
Mitch Jensen singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit a three-run double in the 6th, hit a two-run double in the 7th and walked in the 9th.
Jensen has collected 23 hits for the Vikings this year, 3 of them home runs. He has also netted 18 RBIs and scored 12 runs while batting .460.
