Sam Holcomb told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard."

Well, that's just what Holcomb of the Parkview High School Panthers did against the Lowndes High School Vikings. He went to the plate 5 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, but his club still suffered a defeat, 6-4.

"Not much I can say," offered Holcomb in the postgame press conference. "I got a bunch of hits, but it would have been much better to get a win. Can I trade 5 hits for the win?"

Sam Holcomb singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Adam Norlin in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.

Thus far this season in 11 games, Holcomb is batting .383 with 3 home runs, 8 RBIs and 7 runs scored. He has 18 hits in 47 at-bats.
