Fearing Heroics Not Enough in 6-2 Loss to Indianapolis
The Indianapolis Eagles withstood an impressive performance by Carolina designated hitter Mike Fearing to defeat the Reapers, 6-2, at Eagles Stadium. Fearing hit 2 home runs. Nick Horrocks was credited with the save for Indianapolis, his 1st of the season. After losing, Carolina is 1-4.

Jim Van Donsel had a big 2-run double for the Eagles in the bottom of the second inning. With Indianapolis leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a sinker from former first round draft pick Jake Triplett and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Eagles ahead, 3-0.

Van Donsel attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
