The Toronto Trash Pandas had to overcome a big game from Charleston first baseman Juan Ortiz to leave Trash Panda Field with a victory. And they did, winning, 13-12. Ortiz was 4 for 5 with a home run, a triple, and a double. He scored 3 times and drove in 5. Charleston, with the loss, is 3-2.

Batting in the bottom of the 13th, 25-year old third baseman Ryan Compton had a real shot to win the game. Charleston pitcher Matt Schapp was determined not to let it happen. But with one out, Compton hit a 2-run single. The Trash Pandas had a walk-off triumph.

"They're fun to watch and the hitters get to pad their stats but nobody's really happy about a game like that," Toronto manager Walt DeRosier. "I promise you I'm not happy."
